cast and stuff

Lindsey Beeman

(Lampito/Spartan woman) recently returned home from London where she spent two months studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She holds a B.F.A. in acting from the University of Connecticut and spent two years at the Boston Conservatory, studying musical theater. She was a part of the Broadway Theater Project working with such performers as Anne Renking, Owen Verdon and Gregory Hines. Some of her favorite roles include "Medea" (Medea), "Queen Marguerite" (Exit the King) and "Rosalind" (as You Like It). She is thrilled to have had the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful and talented cast. For putting your trust in me to take over under difficult circumstances, I thank you all very much.

Priscilla Edwards

(Ismenia/Boeotian woman; Nanny) is making her debut acting performance in this production. Currently enrolled in Hofstra University with a major in Film Production and a minor in Drama, she began her theatre career as a Stage Manager for various performances in theatres such as 'The American Theatre of Actors' and as Lighting Technician at the 'Neighborhood Playhouse Theatre'. She is grateful and thankful to Gabrielle and Tim for this opportunity and also to her fellow acting partners for their support in this production.

Gabrielle Forster

(Director) has taught art, art history, German and drama to students of all ages (10 - 20 years). She founded and lead the theatre group at the Gymnasium am Kurfürstlichen Schloss Mainz for 18 years. Furthermore, she worked at the theatre, Mainzer Kammerspiele, where she frequently staged classical and contemporary plays. Her work as a director has included productions of The Skin of Our Teeth, The Birds, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Faithful, Don't Drink the Water and Lapin Lapin. She has also staged self-written experimental performances at unusual places. In July 2002 Gabrielle and her husband, a scientist in cancer research, moved to New York City from Mainz, Germany. From the moment she arrived she loved the city, especially its people. She had never expected to find so many warm-hearted, caring, helpful and polite people in a gigantic city like this. Very quickly Gabrielle established contacts with the NYC theatre scene which is very different from the European scene. She was soon involved in productions of The Drilling Company (Theft and Don't Bring me Down) and Isle of Shoals Productions, Inc. (Occupation: Dragonslayer and Isolated Isles). Since the start of 2003 Gabrielle has worked on the play Lysistrata, her directing debut in NYC. She has enjoyed her work with the wonderful and supportive cast and stage manager.

Jeff Goldschmidt

(Stage Manager) has been professionally stage managing on and off over the past ten years. Most recent credits include credits assisting on Circle by Suzanne Bacchner at The Kraine Theatre, and assisting on Sex Ed at The Midtown Theatre Festival. Thanks to Gabrielle and the cast for a great run, John for stepping in and Lara for asking me to tag along at that audition. This one's for Dylan.

Ronnie Guha

(Spartan Commissioner; Policeman 2) is happy to be a part of this wonderful production. Other credits include "The King" in The King and I, "Barker" in Golden Boy, a murderer in Not Here, an Intellectual Lead in Kashmir, a Rebel lead in Reward, a Romantic lead in Happy Man etc. He has also done some national commercials, industrials, music videos etc. He would like to thank Impact Theatre Company for giving him this opportunity.

Douglas Clark Johnson

(Commissioner) (AFTRA) decided a few years ago that a career on Wall Street needed to be infused with a different sort of creativity. This January, he finished the two-year conservatory program at the Actors' Institute. Doug is now balancing responsibilities of building a hedge fund and private equity investment business with performance demands. Theatrical credits include Midsummer Night's Dream, Chekhov's Three Sisters, and Williams' Orpheus Descending; television credits include CNN and CNBC. He also freelances in print media and voice over. In 2003, he will be featured in a one-man show on the life of Winston Churchill, to be produced in both New York and Los Angeles. He is also leading a production team to revive Maxim Gorky's 1902 classic, The Lower Depths, for off-Broadway performance in 2004. Doug holds a BS from Georgetown University and an MBA and MA from Columbia University. He dedicates his performance to his wife, Kristy, for her patience and grace. Email: actor300@msn.com.

Larry E. Johnson

(Philourgos/Chorus man 3) this is Larry's second appearance at the Impact Theater, having appeared as "Drake" and "Driscoll" in the theater's recent production of Golden Boy. He was also recently seen in the Island Rep production of the Chuck Ranberg play The End Of The World Party and the PMT Production of The Kiss Of The Spiderwoman. A graduate of Rutgers University with a BA in Graphic Design Larry has also studied dance at Steps and The Clark Center School of Dance in NYC and danced with several dance companies. He has studied acting at the Penny Templeton Studio and the Terry Schrieber Studio. He has also been seen in several independent films and other stage productions. He would like to thank God, family and friends for their support. Thanks to Mom.

Wayne McMullen

(Draces/Chorus man 2) recently returned from London, England where he played the role of "Faulkland" in Richard Sheridan's The Rivals at KDC Theatre Diorama. He has also appeared at the Royal Court Theatre in Bronx Zoo and Hard Knocks. In addition he was active in touring London High Schools with a group of original plays that hit upon the problems London's youth were encountering in everyday life. Other London productions include Antigone, The Importance of Being Earnest, Much Ado About Nothing, and Pinocchio. A graduate of The Actors Institute in New York, his recent credits include The Tempest, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Street Scene, the Theatre Garden musical Lady of Copper, The Mousetrap, Everyman - A Morality Play, Jeffrey, and a customer service video called Go For the Wow! for Caesars Hotel & Casino. Wayne is also an active singer/songwriter with a unique style of acoustic rock, and can be seen at various venues throughout New York's tri-state area ... not to mention the subways of the Q, F, 1 & 9. Catch him if you can or sign up for his mailing list at waynenyc@hotmail.com for news on future gigs.

Shari Lee Mitzner

(Elpida/Corinthian woman; Berdina/Chorus woman 3) was first "fit for a brawl" when she brazenly waltzed on stage at the tender age of 2 in the middle of her older sister's ballet recital. She went on to "show her mantrap" in Hair. She now "delivers in the sacred precinct" of Cobble Hill, Brooklyn as founder and Artistic Director of UpBring Dance Company. Shari is currently choreographing Of Thee I Sing for City Lights Youth Theater and teaches dance and drama at The Hannah Senesh School. Shari will be directing a children's production of Fiddler on the Roof at Impact Theater in April. She dedicates her performance of Lysistrata to the strength in sensitivity, of which every woman should be proud.

Eddie Nickolite

(Spartan Herald; Policeman 1) is making his second appearance at the Impact Theater. Previously he played "Frank Bonaparte" in Golden Boy. Eddie has appeared in several independent and short films as well as numerous plays. He is currently studying at the Actors Conservatory with Lili Lodge. Eddie would like to thank his family and friends for their support and encouragement.

Colleen Piquette

(Myrrhine) is happy to be joining the Impact Theater Company with the cast of Lysistrata. Recently she could have been seen in the improvisational Haters which premiered at the NY Comedy Club, and also in The Thirteenth Street Repertory Company's production of A Christmas Carol. Thanks to her friends and family for their continued love and support.

Dennis Starr

(Strymodorus/Chorus leader) does this and that, here and there as often as he can. He was last seen in underwear (but don't tell anybody!). His greatest hope is that Mrs. Bush, Mrs. Cheney and Mrs. Rumsfeld will follow the lead of the women in this play and cut off the nookie until there's peace. He doesn't think this is likely however because it's probably not in their nature.

Anna Studebaker

(Lysistrata) was last seen in a play at the Looking Glass Theatre in Dec. She has been in many theatre, film, and video installation projects in New York over the past year. Thanks to friends and parents for coming out to see everything. For my 100-yr-old grandfather, H. Huntington Bliss.

Lara Starr Sutton

(Anthea/Chorus woman 2; Athenian woman 2) is thrilled to be playing the role of "Anthea" in the Impact Theatre's production of Lysistrata. In the debut production of L.S.S. Theatre Works, Lara recently directed and produced The Widow's Blind Date at The Red Room Theatre in NYC. She also played the role of "Margy Palumbo" in that production. She has played "Franny" in Franny & Zooey at the Sande Shurin Theatre, the roles of "Supermodel" and "Brainstormer" in Five Easy Payments in The Samuel French Play Festival, and the role of "Sarah Unker" in the stage comedy Glossing Over at Altered Stages NYC. She has been on Saturday Night Live with host Cameron Diaz and is currently in production for the sci-fi action thriller The Rogues Gallery, playing the role of "Prophet". Lara attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and received her Bachelor's degree in Theatre from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She would like to thank her mom, Sabrina, Shayne and all of her friends for their love and support. Special thanks to all involved with this production.

Kelly Tanner

(Nikodike/Chorus leader; Athenian woman 2) has been recently seen onstage with Marian Seldes and Marion Ross in the PKE reading of Against The Rising Sea, directed by Joe Cacaci. Other roles have included "Roberta" in Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, "Mrs. Cratchit" in A Christmas Carol, and "Maria" in The Sound of Music. Kelly has recently also appeared in several short films, the Troopers Films feature The Wedding, starring Jaid Barrymore, and on television's Oxygen Network in Trackers.

Daniela Tedesco

(Calonike) is happy to be performing once again at the Impact Theatre. She was most recently seen at the Spotlight On Festival in two different productions - as "May" in Who Am I? and as "Tucker/Waterbury" in Hitchock in the Twilight Zone. She is cofounder of Screaming Muse Productions, in which she writes and produces in addition to acting. Favorite past roles are "Cinderella" in Into the Woods, "Marisol" in Marisol, and "Faith" in Kindertransport. Now and always thanks to family and friends for the incessant support. "My hopes are not always realized, but I always hope." - Ovid

Jim Ward

(Kinesias). Just finishing up a three week run of an original musical called Occupation: Dragonslayer playing "Billionaire Damon Slade", Jim is very excited to be back on stage and joining the cast of Lysistrata. Some of Jim's other credits include various independent films, commercials, and theatre. He recently played "Detective Fortelli" on the NBC television show Law and Order: Criminal Intent.

As a final cut pro editor he has worked for Clearly Supreme Entertainment, Runaway Cab Productions, and Silver Ko Productions. His theater credits are, sound technician for Broadhollow Theater, technical director for LSS Theater Works, lighting consultant for Second Stage Theater. John has been involved with some very unique projects ranging from a live broadcast of several plastic surgeries to completing a short comedy about a waiter. John is skilled in the software Final Cut Pro 3, and has a list of professional lighting experience.

Bryan Williams

(Original Music) is co-founder of Isle of Shoals Productions, Inc., a nonprofit theatre company dedicated to bringing together drama and music in unique and innovative ways. In December the company celebrated its new 501(c)(3) status with Occupation: Dragonslayer, Bryan's 9/11-themed musical fable, at Altered Stages in Manhattan. Isle of Shoals earlier produced Lighthouse, his musical based on Ibsen's Lady from the Sea, as an AEA showcase at One Dream in Tribeca. His straight plays include In This Fallen City, originally developed at the O'Neill National Playwrights Conference (with Mason Adams and Tom Hulce), which was produced off-Broadway at the renowned Circle Repertory Company (directed by Marshall W. Mason) and at theatres around the country. Bryan's screenplay Night of Courage won ABC's New Drama for Television Award and starred Barnard Hughes, Geraldine Fitzgerald, Daniel Hugh Kelly and Lili Taylor. His drama, A World I Never Made, was chosen for the inaugural season of New Jersey Repertory Company, where he was Playwright-in-Residence, and was produced this past summer at the Occasional Theatre in LA. I, Lionel, his award-winning comedy about teen suicide, is published by Dramatic Publishing Company and his play for young adults, In the Garden of the Witch, by Baker's Plays. His play about a woman witnessing her own descent into Alzheimer's, To Rose ~ Love Edward, an O'Neill National Playwrights finalist, was presented as an AEA Staged Reading at Raw Space on NYC's Theatre Row. His one-character play about a homeless entertainer, Playing Combs, was a John Gassner Award winner, O'Neill Alternate, and presented at the Northeastern Theatre Conference. A Juilliard-trained pianist and composer, Bryan's musicals have been widely performed at venues such as the Folger Theatre in DC, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and the Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival. A Board Member of the legendary Everyman Street Theatre Company of Brooklyn, he remembers fondly the summers when his rock musical adaptations of the classics (in collaboration with Geraldine Fitzgerald and Brother Jonathan Ringkamp) played the streets and avenues of this vibrant Borough
